STRANGE BEHAVIOR

Closing argument of prosecutor David Tellman to the jury.

DOG BEHAVIOR AROUND DEANGELO

• DeAngelo would have had no trouble getting past Adolph because he was the dog used by Auburn PD for K-9 services from 1976-79. Additionally, Adolph was well trained to take commands from police officers. DeAngelo would have had knowledge of the specific phrases used by handlers from his police work in both Exeter and Auburn. Paul Kovacich was a patrol officer during DeAngelos years with Auburn PD, and Adolph rode with him on all of his calls.

• Adolph would not have been the only dog to exhibit passive behavior towards DeAngelo. Dogs were so consistently silent around the EAR that SSD called in a dog whisperer to try to figure out why dogs werent barking alerts, or attacking the EAR.
