K-9 Grizzly
•As commander of PCSO’s K-9 unit, Paul Kovacich prided himself on the program’s lack of dog bite injuries and complaints. Properly trained K-9s are sent out by their handlers to locate suspects, hold them in place with alert barking, and jump on them and take them to the ground if they try to run. The dogs are not supposed to be a weapon used to injure citizens. The unit’s perfect record ended with Johnson. His dog Grizzly was just plain vicious:
