244 Forest Court

Family Photo of 244 Forest Court, Auburn

• The Forest Court neighborhood was built on land purchased from the estate of Clark Ashton Smith, a famous Sci-Fi author and poet.

• In 1982, there were no homes in the southern portion of the development, just vacant land.

The USGS map below shows the Skyridge development in 1981. None of the streets in that plat were open to the south, so all traffic had to enter and exit on Carolyn—to the north.

• In 1982, the Rubios were the Kovacichs’ next door neighbors, immediately to the southwest, and they described the area that separated the two homes:

•The adjoining property, immediately to the west of Forest Court, is a 40-acre parcel owned and operated by The Sisters Of Mercy. The property was developed as a Catholic convent in 1940, and has been operating continuously to the present day.

• Auburn PD reports show that this property was not examined or canvassed in 1982, and that the first contact with the property and staff was made in 1997.
